Circuit Court
The Circuit Court hears all appeals from the General District Court and tries felonies and all civil and criminal cases.

Colonial Community Corrections
Colonial Community Corrections is a multijurisdictional program that provides sentencing alternatives to the local judicial systems serving the County and other localities. It provides probation supervision of local offenders, pretrial services, transitional services, criminal justice planning and mentoring.

General District Court
General District Court hears all misdemeanors, including traffic violations and civil cases involving $25,000 or less.

Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court
The Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court handles all matters involving juveniles such as traffic matters and juvenile delinquency cases. The Court also hears family abuse cases, cases where adults have been accused of child abuse or neglect, and criminal cases where the defendant and alleged victim are family or household members. In addition, this Court handles other matters involving the family such as custody, visitation and support.

Middle Peninsula Juvenile Detention Commission
The Merrimac Center is a regional secure detention facility serving 18 jurisdictions and provides services to the juvenile court for children up to age 18.

Probation & Parole Office
Probation and Parole is responsible for supervising offenders in the community who have been convicted of felony criminal matters. Probation and Parole Officers supervise, monitor and make regular contact with offenders. They also can exercise arrest authority if terms of probation or parole are not met. This office serves the County and surrounding jurisdictions.

Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail
Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail is a joint correctional facility serving the County, the City of Williamsburg, York County and the City of Poquoson.
