Community Events

Meet Your Local Firefighters

Community events are a great opportunity for firefighters to meet the public in a non-emergency situation, answer questions, display apparatus and distribute safety information.

If you are planning a community event and would like to invite the Fire Department to participate, please complete our Community Event Request Form at least 1 month in advance.

The Fire Department participates in community events that are free and open to the public. Requests are subject to availability. Final confirmation may take up to 7 business days due to firefighter shift rotation. All trucks are staffed by on-duty personnel. Due to emergency calls, appearances may be delayed, interrupted or canceled without notice. During events, trucks must be parked in a location that allows for quick, safe exit. The location and placement of fire trucks is the final decision of the company officer.

Due to finite resources we are unable to provide fire trucks for birthday parties. However, if your child is interested in the fire service we encourage you to bring him or her to any James City County fire station to say hello to the firefighters and see the trucks! Citizens may drop by any time before 5 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
