This project will include sidewalk along John Tyler Highway (400 feet), Ironbound Road (500 feet) and adjacent to Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School in order to provide pedestrian access in line with the Safe Routes To School initiative. Points of interest include Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School as well as Governor’s Grove and Village Square residential areas. The project will also include a connection to the Powhatan Creek Trail. To achieve the proposed design, minor improvements/adjustments may be made to the roadway, drainage facilities, and utilities.

A community information meeting will be held at the Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School cafeteria from 6:15-7:45 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2019.
